Series: Forty days after death.
In the Russian Orthodox church, the fortieth day after death is celebrated as the moment when the soul leaves the body. I have tried to render what this moment might look like in a series of large bi-coloured diptychs.

The books.
These ominous sounding volumes are in fact wallpaper pattern books; each suitcase-sized catalogue contains nearly two hundred different wallpaper samples for decorating the home. They make the perfect sketch pad for an abstract artist like me. Each tome pursues a different theme.......
