Творческая биография

Born in Lima, where she lived until she was seventeen years old, Sylvia Gallart stayed successively at Madrid, Paris and Caracas, before settling in Brussels. Lover of art since she was a kid, the artist has always aspired to creation and innovation, dedicating herself since 1996 to aquarelle and since 1999 to the work with spatula.
The work of this artist reveals a strong personality in the selection of the themes as in the balance of the colours or the security of the brushstroke.
Even if in the oeuvre of Sylvia Gallart there is always some fragment corresponding with reality the essential of her attention is centred in the gestures and the chromatical harmony. The gesture sees himself guided by an energy which takes control over the theme and submits to the idea and perceptions of the artist in order to arrive to a subjective and abstract vision.
About the colours, they invade sometimes the background of the picture like a uniformed tint but, more frequently, Sylvia Gallart reserves them for enhance and luminosities, which give rhythm to the composition.
